BHUTAN - RECCE EXPEDITION
PBT Himalaya Odyssey continues!
Our inaugural expedition, we invite seven riders who are up for the challenge and the opportunity to lay the foundations for future adventures.
There’s no place in the world quite like Bhutan. Protected from 21st century influences, only a few are privileged to witness a unique way of life. It’s been said that this last remaining Himalayan Kingdom is a bastion of pristine Tibetan-influenced culture that few other travellers will ever experience.
Known locally as Druk-Yul, Bhutan nestling in the Himalayas is mystical as well as enchanting, is surrounded by India to the East, West and South and is boarded by Tibet in the North, Also known as the “Land of the Thunder Dragon”, will leave you fascinated with its beauty and cherished lifestyle. In 1923 the Earl of Ronaldshay wrote of this little Kingdom
| “With our passage through the bridge, behold a curious transformation. For just as Alice, when she walked through the looking-glass, found herself in a new and whimsical world, so we, when we crossed the Pachhu, found ourselves, as though caught up on some magic time machine fitted fantastically with a reverse, flung back across the centuries into the feudalism of a medieval age” |
